Knowstead

Privacy policy

Effective October 15, 2026

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the Knowstead app for iPhone ("the app") and this website. In short: there is no account and no tracking, there are no ads, and your progress stays on your device. The only data that leaves your device is what is needed to download lessons and to handle purchases.

Who is responsible

Ayano Nakagawa, Japan ("we"). Contact: support@knowstead.app.

What stays on your device

Your answers in the welcome questions (your interests, where you are on your homestead journey, and the country and region you choose), your progress, checklist ticks and quiz answers. They are stored only in the app on your iPhone. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

What leaves your device, and why

ServiceWhat it processesWhy
Cloudflare, Inc. (content delivery)Your IP address and technical request data (such as the file requested, time, and app version), when the app downloads lesson videos, audio and texts from media.knowstead.appTo deliver the lessons to the app
Apple (App Store)Your purchase and payment. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details or your Apple AccountTo sell and renew subscriptions
RevenueCat, Inc. (purchase management)A random ID the app creates (not linked to your name or email), your purchases and subscription status, and technical data such as device model, iOS version, app version, country or region, and IP addressTo check which plan you have, unlock it, and restore it on a new device
Vercel Inc. (this website)Your IP address and technical request data when you visit knowstead.appTo show this website
Cloudflare, Inc. (email and DNS)The emails you send to support@knowstead.app, which are forwarded to our inboxTo answer your questions

These providers process data on our behalf and under their own privacy policies: Cloudflare, Apple, RevenueCat, Vercel. Some of them process data in the United States and other countries.

What we do not do

How long data is kept

Data in the app stays until you delete the app. Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat for as long as needed to provide your purchases and as the law requires (for example, tax and accounting rules). Emails to support are kept as long as needed to answer them. Server logs of Cloudflare and Vercel are kept for short periods under their policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU and UK GDPR, the laws of California, or Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information), you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or complain to a data protection authority. Write to support@knowstead.app. Because we do not know who you are, we may ask for the purchase receipt or transaction ID from your Apple purchase so we can find your purchase record at RevenueCat.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
